The Hawaiʻi Convention Center is a premier convention and exhibition center located in Honolulu on the island of Oahu.

- Resposible for all aspects of policies and procedures to secure and maintain the security and safety of all employees, clients, attendees, and contractors present in the Hawaii Convention Center facility

- Antcipates issues relating to building safety and develops appropriate solutions. Champion and take ownership of strategies relating to changing security threats, and emergency/safety conditions
- Maintains building compliance with regulations and ethics as it relates to safety & security. Identy, assess, prioritize and manage risks relating to federal, state, and city compliance
- Regulary attends meetings with city, county, state, and/or federal law enforcement agencies in planning and providing security for high-profile events at the convention center

- Manages emergency evacuation and crisis scenarios, practices and drills. Ensures smooth training of participants in preperation of true evacuations and/or crisis

- Oversees the venue transportation program so that transportation during events run smoothly to provide exceptional customer service to client(s). This may include freight, taxis, buses, passenger vehicles, and/or pedestrians

- Overall responsibility for department budget (development, maintenance, management), documents, tracks, monitors, and analyzes deprtmental finances. Reports finances/budget, reforecasts, and provides recommendations for financial strategy of departmental expenses

- Establish measures, metrics, and targets to drive performance in alignment with security department and HCC business strategies
- Lead, develop/create, maintain, and oversee special projects and security initiatives/objectives related to all aspects of building safety including capital improvement projects

- Instituted an emergency alert communications program capable of reaching all HCC employees, contractors, and government stakeholders for events happening at or affecting conditions/personnel at HCC (weather emergencies, active shooter/aggressor, fore alarms, medical emergencies, etc.)

- Procured and developed a Incident Management System (IMS) capable of documenting, coordinating, and distributing security/safety incidents and tasks that are dispatched by HCC security staff from our 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC)

- Developed a capital improvement project to upgrade parking management capabilities including a cashless payment system, equipment replacement, and accurate vehicle counting capabilities
