  • Promoted after completion of temp contract. Maintain safe working environment by driving all security risk management functions across LyondellBasell’s largest US facility totaling 4K+ acres and 6K personnel.

  • Lead long-term planning and strategic initiatives to create a sustainable risk-based physical, technical, and procedural security program, including executive protection plan. Manage $4M annual department budget while optimizing security operations, processes, and policies & procedures.

  • Managed multiple large construction initiatives including design and implementation.

  • Collaboratively design, develop, and oversee site programs & processes to achieve Operational Excellence management standards and ensure compliance with security-related federal regulations such as MTSA, TWIC, CTPAT, and OSHA. Serve as site Facility Security Officer for Coast Guard MARSEC.

  • Eliminate risk through security vulnerability assessments, executing cost effective plans to rectify problem areas; enhanced barge dock security after identifying and resolving need for camera coverage.

  • Perform or support investigations, follow-up with security, criminal, and conduct allegations/violations.

  • Supervise the contract security personnel program, including performance management of 60-70 contract guards. Create security and crisis management training delivered to contract guards and five internal employees; disseminate site-specific security risk and threat awareness topics to all facility.

  • Facilitate large-scale goal attainment by designing security plans for turnaround, special projects, and security-related capital programs/projects; recently, generated security assessment for $2B plant expansion.

  • Reduced risk of COVID-19 by establishing a screening protocol with questionnaire and three-step health evaluation for all site contractors, employees, and visitors.

  • Dramatically quickened emergency response time by developing a security operation dispatch center, eliminating reliance on outside services.

  • Strengthened security after supervising a proof of concept (POC) drone security program and integrating insights into daily security operations.

  • Eased visitor entry process by reducing TWIC footprint from a site to an asset-based approach.

  • Ensured effectiveness of contract security program at 12 U.S. sites, liaising between LyondellBAsell and security management company leaders as communications point of contact

  • Evaluated contract guards against performance mangement standards, security countermeasure preferred practices, and DHS regulatory programs such as CFATS, MTSA, and C-TPAT. Addressed non-compliance issues with these corporate amd federal policies and regulations

  • Provided guidance to all sites on design and development of security plans and annual budgets that optimized contract guard use for standard operations, turnarounds, elevated security levels, and work stoppage situations; presented implementation options to site leadership

  • Equipped contract guards with critical competencies by creating and deploying a professional development training and performance proficiency program

  • Coordinated between the contract guard company and site leadership developing and maintaining professional development training and performance proficiency program for contract security

  • Partnered with contract guard company and site leadership to investigate safety related incidents to determine root cause and mitigate recurring issues

  • Assisted U.S. sites to develop annual operating budgets for security projects, physical security requirements, contract security staffing, and project proposals
